By using the Service, you acknowledge the collection, use, disclosure, and processing described in this Privacy Policy. Your use of the Service is also subject to our Terms of Service.

1. Service Overview

Good For You is a wellness fact-checking application that analyzes health and wellness claims using artificial intelligence and provides verdicts based on available scientific evidence. The Service uses AI (Anthropic Claude) to evaluate claims and provides personalized assessments based on user-provided health profile information. Good For You is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

2. Personal Data We Collect

We may collect a variety of personal data from or about you or your devices from various sources. If you do not provide your personal data when requested, you may not be able to use the full extent of the Service.

A. Personal Data You Provide to Us

  • Account Information. Apple ID authentication token and associated email address (if you choose to share it via Apple Sign In).
  • Health Profile Information. Health goals, dietary restrictions and preferences, medical conditions, allergies, current medications, and age range, used solely to personalize the Service.
  • Claims Data. Wellness claims you submit for fact-checking, including claim text, source URL, and metadata.
  • Feedback Data. Feedback on verdicts (e.g. thumbs up/down) and other content you submit.
  • Contact Information. Name, email, and other data you provide when you inquire about us or the Service.
  • Payment Information. Payment is processed through Apple's App Store. We do not directly collect or store payment card information. Subscription management is handled by RevenueCat.

B. Personal Data We Collect When You Use the Service

  • Device Information. IP address, device type, device identifiers, browser type and version, and operating system version.
  • Usage Information. Features accessed, claims checked, verdicts viewed, dates and times of use, and app performance data.
  • Analytics Data. We use Adjust for install attribution and usage analytics. Adjust may collect device identifiers and interaction data.
  • Diagnostics. Crash logs, performance data, and other diagnostic information.

C. Personal Data We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect precise location data.
  • We do not access your photos, camera, contacts, or browsing history.
  • We do not collect data from Apple Health or HealthKit.
  • We do not collect financial information beyond what is processed through the App Store.

3. How We Use Personal Data

  • To provide, maintain, improve, and enhance the Service, including personalized wellness verdicts;
  • To analyze wellness claims using AI and provide evidence-based assessments;
  • To understand and analyze how you use the Service and develop new products and features;
  • To communicate with you and provide customer support;
  • To manage your account and subscription;
  • To generate anonymized or aggregated data for lawful purposes, including improving our algorithms;
  • To find and prevent fraud and abuse, resolve disputes, or respond to trust and safety issues;
  • For compliance purposes and as required by law; and
  • For other purposes for which we provide specific notice at the time of collection.

4. How We Disclose Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data.

  • Anthropic. Claim text and relevant health context (anonymized) are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for analysis.
  • RevenueCat. Subscription management and payment processing.
  • Firebase/Google Cloud. Authentication, database, cloud functions, and hosting.
  • Adjust. Analytics and install attribution.
  • Partners and Affiliates. For the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
  • Vendors and Service Providers. Retained in connection with the Service.
  • As Required by Law. To comply with legal processes, protect rights and safety, or investigate fraud.
  • Merger, Sale, or Other Asset Transfers. In connection with a corporate transaction.

5. Health Data Protection

  • Health profile data is stored in Firebase Firestore with security rules restricting access to the user's own data.
  • Health data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Health context shared with AI services is anonymized and does not include directly identifying information.
  • You can view, update, or delete your health profile at any time through the app's Profile section.
  • We do not use health data for advertising purposes.

6. Your Choices

  • Marketing Communications. Unsubscribe via the link in promotional emails.
  • Health Profile. Update or delete through the app settings.
  • Account Deletion. Request deletion at any time by contacting us.
  • Do Not Track. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals.

7. Your European Privacy Rights (EEA/UK)

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you may request access, correction, restriction, objection, deletion, or data portability. You may withdraw consent at any time. Contact us using the details below. We may verify your identity before fulfilling requests. Exceptions and limitations may apply.

8. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK)

We process personal data only when we have a valid legal basis:

  • Consent. e.g. to process your health profile for personalized verdicts.
  • Contractual Necessity. To provide the Service or respond to your requests.

We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service or support our business purposes. When you request deletion, we delete or de-identify data when it is no longer reasonably necessary, unless we are required by law to keep it longer.

13. International Visitors

The Service is hosted in the United States. If you use the Service from the EEA, the UK, or other regions, you are transferring your personal data to the U.S. We may transfer data based on Standard Contractual Clauses or in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

We will post adjustments on this page and in the app. The revised version is effective when posted. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date.
